SYMPTOM
The Desktop Database Rebuilder may occassionally cause an ABEND while reading
an application file with a corrupt resource fork.
The file server may ABEND when a Macintosh workstation using the Encrypted
NetWare Authentication with the NetWare UAM 3.00 attempts to login or logout.
The server will ABEND with the following error message: "Free called with a
memory block that has an invalid resource tag. Running process AFP."
Prolonged 100% utilization may occur after logout when using some third-party
applications.
Long delays may occur when opening folders on a NetWare server with large
Directory Trees.
Large amounts of memory may be incorrectly allocated to the Finder
Accelerator.
When the Finder Accelerator is enabled, Macintosh workstations with 68000
processors will hang when trying to mount an AFP volume.
When the Finder Accelerator is enabled, there is an enumeration problem, which
causes the contents of folders to be invisible.
Users attaching to servers with multiple volumes may sometimes mount the wrong
volume on their desktop or crash the server, depending on the volume names
chosen by the administrator.
After the AFPCON Start Desktop Database Rebuild menu option has been used to
rebuild the server volume desktop, double-clicking on a document file may no
longer automatically open the associated application which created it. The
Macintosh workstation displays the following error: "The document 'doc_name'
could not be opened because the application program that created it could not
be found."
Macintosh clients will occasionally get stuck while accessing the NetWare
server because the server stops responding to that session. The following
error message is sometimes erroneously displayed: "NetWare for Macintosh
License violation detected: Server SERVER_NAME in zone ZONE_NAME has a
duplicate serial number!". This message may be displayed even if there is only
one 4.01 file server on the network.
Volumes that are greater than 4 GB in size appear to have incorrect size
information in the Finder.
Performance problems may be encountered if many users simultaneously access
the same volume entry or if the network has very heavy traffic.
SOLUTION
