  16. This patch repairs a mirroring problem with SFT NetWare v2.15c.  The patch
  17. allows remirroring of large drives (600MB).

  41. This patch repairs a mirroring bug in the sft code of NETWARE 2.15X. The
  42. patch allows the remirror command to copy VIT sectors 22-25 in addition to
  43. the usuall sectors 16 and 17.  The problem is only present on large drives
  44. (600 Meg).
  45.  
  46. The programs and data in this subdirectory are for patching the net$os.exe
  47. or the net$os.ex1 file.  Use the following procedure:
  48.  
  49. Before you do anything, be sure all data on the server is backed up.
  50.  
  51.  
  52. 1) Login as supervisor to the server to be patched and change to the
  53. subdirectory sys:system.
  54.  
  55. 2) Use the FLAG program to set the attributes on net$os.exe to read/write:
  56.  
  57.           flag net$os.exe rw
  58.  
  59. 4) Copy the files on this floppy to sys:system.
  60.  
  61. 5) Type the following:
  62.  
  63.           pexe net$os.exe <cr>
  64.  
  65. 4) It will take about 10 seconds for the patches to finish and a message
  66. will come up indicating if the patches were successful or not.
  67.  
  68. 5) An alternative method, is to leave the patch programs in one area and
  69. put a path on the filenames to be patched above.

  71. note: Note the net$os.ex1 file in the netgen area can also be patched
  72. before it is installed by netgen.  If you do this type the following.

  74.           pexe net$os.ex1 <cr>
  75.  
  76. 6) When finished, verify that the modify date has been changed and copy the
  77. newly modified net$os.ex1 back to its area in the netgen subdirectory.  Or
  78. if you modified net$os.exe in sys:system, change the file attributes back
  79. to read only by typing "FLAG NET$OS.EXE RO".
