  9. ABSTRACT:
  10.  
  11. This file explains updates to Novell InForms 4.1 that address
  12. some issues that arise when the application is running under
  13. Windows NT and Windows 3.1.  If you want to update InForms 4.1,
  14. you must have previously installed the application.
  15.  To apply the patch, you must use a utility called PATCH.EXE
  16. (from Pocket Soft, Inc.), along with the accompanying .RTP files. 
  17. If you are running InForms 4.1 from the network, your network
  18. administrator
  19.  may need to update the files if you do not have the rights to do
  20. so.

  41.   Data Links
  42.       *  Under some conditions, read-only database fields were
  43.          written to the database when a write object link was
  44.          updated.
  45.       *  A sorting problem sometimes caused a "Corrupt File,
  46.          Datalinks Lost" error message to be displayed when there
  47.          were hundreds of fields on a valid form.
  48.  
  49.    Data Tables
  50.       *  Text was not always justified correctly when records
  51.          scrolled into view and when they were edited.
  52.       *  Under certain conditions, a GPF occurred when data table
  53.          rows were being printed on attachment pages.
  54.       *  When a memo field was defined within a data table and it
  55.          had enough text to wrap, only the first line of text was
  56.          printed on any attachment pages.
  57.       *  When the primary field was on one page and the data
  58. table
  59.          was on another page, "A primary record must be locked
  60.          before entering the data table" message was displayed
  61.          incorrectly.

  63.    Delrina Form Import
  64.       *  The import incorrectly excluded earlier versions of
  65.          Delrina Forms from being imported (Pre-PerForm Pro
  66. Plus).

  68.    Formulas
  69.       *  Under certain conditions, @DELETEREC() generated an
  70.          "Internal Memory Error" message.
  71.       *  A GPF occurred in Filler if a formula went to two
  72. different
  73.          linked forms.
  74.       *  The @RESETOBJ() formula did not work for table cells.
  75.       *  Under certain conditions, an object's value was cleared
  76.          incorrectly when it called an Independent formula.
  77.       *  "Open" type formulas were not firing on @NEWREC() when
  78.          they were attached to Action Button objects.
  79.       *  The @TEXT() function deleted leading zeros of a decimal
  80.          value (e.g., .03 was changed to .3).
  81.       *  A GPF occurred when opening a form in Filler if a change
  82.          formula referenced a multi-record table column using a
  83.          column name reference instead of a column letter
  84.          reference.

  86.    Installation
  87.       *  The file CTL3DV2.DLL was not being installed. (This file
  88.          is needed for the IDAPI configuration utility.)
  89.       *  On a server or workstation installation, the file
  90.          NWCALLS.DLL was not being installed.
  91.       *  Under certain conditions, a GPF occurred after a server
  92.          installation.

  94.    Lotus Notes
  95.       *  Some Lotus Notes forms were not showing in the list of
  96.          tables when a form was being linked to a Lotus Notes
  97.          database.
  98.       *  Querying a Lotus Notes form did not show records that
  99. were
  100.          entered using Notes.
  101.       *  A form could not be linked to Lotus Notes Views.
  102.  
  103.    Object Appearance
  104.       *  If you turned a table cell line off through the Example
  105.          window, you could not turn it back on.
  106.       *  In certain conditions, copying and pasting an object
  107. changed
  108.          the copied object font to something different from the
  109.          original font.
  110.  
  111.    Query
  112.       *  Query catalogs were incorrectly being read in when
  113.          Data-Only (.DO) forms were opened. Query catalogs are
  114.          not valid in .DO forms.
  115.       *  A record could not be deleted from FoxPro and Clipper
  116.          databases if the data had an embedded apostrophe.
  117.       *  The query parse failed when a query was being performed
  118. on
  119.          a Clipper database with 1,000 fields.

  121.    README.IN File
  122.       *  Step 3 in the "ACCESS THE Q+E DRIVERS" section
  123. incorrectly
  124.          stated that you should rename the INDBLQE.DLL file to
  125.          INDBLIB.DLL. The name of the file you need to rename is
  126.          actually INDBLIB.OLD.

  128.    Text Tool
  129.       *  Hard returns were not counted in Memo fields, which
  130. allowed
  131.          more characters than expected to be entered.
  132.       *  In some cases, character spacing with bold and italic
  133. fonts
  134.          was different than the spacing for the regular font in
  135.          InForms 1.0b.
  136.       *  A memo field with underline set displayed text
  137. incorrectly
  138.          in relation to the underlines displayed when a printer
  139. was
  140.          selected.
  141.  
  142.    Windows NT
  143.       *  Global spell-checking produced a GPF under Windows NT.
  144.       *  Tabbing to any field that already contained data
  145. produced
  146.          a GPF under Windows NT when Fast Editor was off.

  164. Installation Instructions:

  166. To install the updates, you must first find out where your
  167. InForms 4.1 and PerfectFit directories are. To do so,
  168.  1    Start InForms 4.1.
  169.  2    Select About InForms from the Help menu.
  170.  3    Make a note of the path beside Program Release; this is
  171. your InForms 4.1 directory.
  172.  4    Make a note of the path beside Shared DLL Release; this is
  173. your PerfectFit directory.
  174.  5    Exit InForms.
  175.  6    Close all other Novell applications. You cannot apply the
  176. PerfectFit patch while any other Novell applications are running.
  177.  
  178.  After you have identified the location of your InForms 4.1 and
  179. PerfectFit directories,
  180.  1    Go to a DOS prompt.
  181.  2    Change to the drive and directory where the update disk
  182. exists (usually A:).
  183.  3    At the DOS prompt, type:
  184.         PATCH INFF1.RTP C:\INF41 (replace C:\INF41 with the path
  185. to your InForms 4.1 directory if that directory is in another
  186. location), and wait for the patch to update the files.
  187.  4    At the DOS prompt, type:
  188.         PATCH INFPF2.RTP C:\OFFICE\SHARED\WPC20 (replace
  189. C:\OFFICE\SHARED\WPC20 with the path to your PerfectFit directory
  190. if that directory is in another location), and wait for the patch
  191. to update the files.
