  11. The InForms Diagnostics Utility is a Windows 3.1 utility
  12. developed by Novell to help troubleshoot an InForms 1.x or 4.1
  13. form.  You can open the form and quickly get access to important
  14. information about the form.

  16.  The utility has been used extensively by Novell for the past
  17. year to help troubleshoot problems with forms.

  38. 1.  You can scroll through a list of form objects and have
  39. important Object Definition
  40.  information display on the screen for that object.  Objects in
  41. this list with invalid formulas are in red, objects with valid
  42. formulas are in blue, and objects without formulas are in black.
  43.  
  44.  2.  You can sort the list of form objects by page number, by
  45. object type, by the creation order, by the Tab Order, or only
  46. objects with formulas.
  47.  
  48.  3.  You can quickly view formulas on that object.  In the View
  49. Formula dialog, you can see all the formulas on that object at
  50. once, or individually.  You can even print them out.
  51.  
  52.  4.  The main screen also shows how many objects are in the form
  53. as well as how many objects can be linked to databases.  This is
  54. helpful when trying to determine what type of database to link
  55. to.  Every database has a limit to the number of fields that can
  56. be linked to one database/table. This number varies among the
  57. different database types.
  58.  
  59.  5.  It tells you how many formulas you have - Invalid, Valid,
  60. and Independent.  This is helpful
  61.  when you are trying to track down invalid formulas and aren't
  62. sure how many you have.
  63.  
  64.  6.  You can quickly view information on your links.  The Data
  65. Links dialog will also point out
  66.  form objects that are not the same format as the database field
  67. they are linked to.  The lines in the linked form object list are
  68. RED for invalid formats, GRAY for not linked, and CYAN for
  69. correct links.
  70.  
  71.  7.  Another popular feature is the ability to create a custom
  72. report to document your form.  You can select what form
  73. information you want from a list, then have it either printed or
  74. saved to a DOS text file.  This is helpful for documenting links,
  75. and formulas, etc.
