README.TIM 7/21/93
=================================================================
Time and Billing lets you track client and billing information
for an accountant, attorney, engineer, or other professional, or
for an entire firm. The database adds the cost of total services
for each client and lets you print invoices.
For information on deleting the sample data in TIMEBILL, see the
file titled README.APP.
You may copy and modify this database for your own or your
company's use. You may not copy the database and resell it.
Please be aware that while WordPerfect Corporation provides
support on DataPerfect questions, only limited support is
available for these predefined databases. No support is
available for the databases if they have been modified.
PANELS
Time and Billing database was created with a built-in menu to
make navigating easier. The menu allows access to all panels as
well as most functions and built-in reports. Time and Billing
contains seven panels. The main panel, Client Information, gives
you direct access to five of the nine subpanels.
As you tab through each field in a panel, a help message at the
top of the screen explains what to do while in that field. Press
Help (F3) twice for further information about the field.
MENU OPTIONS
Menu option 1 lets you enter information about your clients,
such as name, address, company, and phone numbers. It also
displays the most recent work done for the client and the
outstanding balance receivable, as well as other
information.
Menu option 2 lets you see invoice information for each
client.
Menu option 3 lets you enter payments received for each
client.
Menu option 4 lets you enter information about trust fund
receipts and payments, and shows the balance of each trust
fund.
Menu option 5 lets you review client records that have been
archived via menu option 28.
Menu option 6 lets you enter information about consultants
you work with.
Menu option 7 displays a note from the database developer.
Menu option 8 displays a submenu of reports, including
Invoices, Accounts Receivable, labels, histories and
directories, and exports.
Menu option 21 lets you enter services information,
including service description, rate type, and rate, for use
in other panels.
Menu option 22 lets you enter expense information, including
expense description, description, and cost, for use in other
panels.
Menu option 23 lets you enter consultant name, initials, and
fees for use in other panels.
Menu option 24 lets you enter types of work (matters) for
use in other panels.
Menu option 28 lets you archive individual clients. The
client records are not deleted from the database, but are
hidden from normal view.
Menu option 29 lets you de-archive clients that you
previously archived.
