PRODUCT: Office 4.0 for Macintosh
SUBJECT: Icon To Move Backwards One Day In Calendar Does Not Work
Problem:
Using the "by month" buttons to move backwards across an annual
boundary (i.e., from January 1994 to December 1993) results in a
damaged display of the month. This happens in any calendar view.
For example, a user working in Mini Calendar clicks the icon to
move backward one day at a time. When the calendar changes to the
previous month, clicking the icon moves to the 26th (or some other
day), not the last day of the month.
Answer:
This problem is corrected with the 10/15/93 (4.0a) release.

SUBJECT: Accepted Item Status Not Recognized In Execution Of A
Rule
Problem:
Rules will not work with any Message Status Options checked in the
Item Options dialog box. The customer has created a rule to
forward a task when the task has been accepted. When the message
status Accepted has been checked (Item Options|If), the rule has no
effect. When Accepted is unchecked, the task is forwarded,
regardless of whether the user accepts or declines it.

SUBJECT: SMTP Gateway Doesn't Handle Macintosh Attachments Very
Well
Problem:
Attachments with resource forks (e.g., from Macintosh) won't go
through the SMTP Gateway.
Answer:
Mail attachments that don't have a resource fork and a data fork
work fine through the SMTP Gateway. The only reason binary
attachments won't work is due to the Macintosh resource and data
forks. Examples of files that will work fine through the gateway
are Office Mac messages, WP documents that were saved in single
file format, or any file where a third-party utility was run on the
file to combine the resource and data fork. Apple single file
format files work fine. A workaround is to use a BINHEX converter
to take the resource and data forks and encode them into a single
file.

SUBJECT: Appointment Created With Auto-Date Has Wrong Duration
Problem:
When creating an appointment with Auto-Date in Office 4.0a Mac, the
duration of the appointment is lengthened by several hours.
Answer:
To solve this problem, the user should press Return after entering
duration.
Another workaround is listed below:
1. Create the appointment without the Auto-Date and send it
2. Open it from the Appointment list box in any calendar view
3. Add the auto-date information
