  8. USAGE:
  9. ------
  10.        To use the new GPL, simply copy the supplied GPL over your existing
  11.        GPL file.  No other modification is required.
  12.

  15.        Version change.  No modifications made to the program.  Only reason for
  16.        doing this is to make sure people are using the most recent version,
  17.        and to keep some semblance of order!

  22.        1) Changed the menu around - DSK1 Emulation is now F6
  23.  
  24.        2) "ROMPAGE" may now be activated from the GPL menu screen by
  25.           pressing F5.  GPL will first page out the master DSR then will
  26.           perform the equivalent function of ROMpage. Once that is done, you
  27.           are put into GPL and may use the "WDSx" device.

  29.           Once you SHIFT-SHIFT-CONTROL back to the menu, the master DSR
  30.           is restored.  The rompage standalone program did not do this.

  32.           Besides cleaner entry/exit, you don't have to worry about the
  33.           CRU address of the HFDC - GPL relies upon MDOS for its information,
  34.           meaning no need for hex editing.

  36.           MDM5, SpellIt, and other programs which make use of the "WDSx"
  37.           name and the ">2x" routines are usable with this new feature.

  42. Programmers note:  The mapper page for GPL task page zero is stored
  43.        at location >8100.  This was done to facilitate paging to Geneve
  44.        mode for certain applications, such as the S&T BBS Geneve version of
  45.        assembly which uses the master DSR for all file access.
  46.        If you would like to learn how to do this please contact me for more
  47.        information. This modification is also present in the GPL Cheater
  48.        program.

  64. 1) CTRL-ALT-DEL is no longer the only exit to MDOS from the GPL loader screen.
  65.        The user may now press <ESC>ape to exit to MDOS, avoiding an inadvertant
  66.        system reset.

  68. 2) The joystick lines were reversed.  Joystick #1 now operates as #1, not as
  69.        #2 - and viceversa.

  71. 3) The FIREBUTTONS are now independently processed.  The GPL status byte was
  72.        not being correctly set/reset for each joystick.  This caused rapid-
  73.        fire in certain programs such as Barrage and Tennis.  Also, with the
  74.        buttons being checked in this manner, there ought to be less
  75.        probability that the buttons are missed.

  80.        This version of GPL should work properly with the new combined MDOS for
  81.        all users, regardless of whether they have a floppy controller, HFDCC,
  82.        SCSI, or combination thereof.

  84.        Since the fixes we made to the power up routine in MDOS were successful,
  85.        only minor changes to the GPL power up were necessary.
  86.  
  87.        GPL now clears previously untouched video registers.  Included are the
  88.        color, sprite, and blink tables.  Prior versions did not reset these
  89.        registers, causing strange results in various graphic modes.
