  9.      This file answers some commonly-asked questions about registering.
  10.  
  11.      ■  You will get some TI programs on a 90k 5.25" floppy disk.  They
  12. transfer cartridges and disks over from the TI to the PC and require
  13. Editor/Assembler, Mini-Memory, TI-Writer, or Extended BASIC (or any
  14. other module which can load program-image files or TI object code), 32k
  15. memory expansion, and the inferred 5.25" TI-compatible floppy drive.
  16.      ■  CART, which transfers cartridges over, requires some changes to
  17. the cartridge you want to transfer.  Since TI cartridges reset the
  18. computer when they're inserted, a resistor needs to be disconnected to
  19. allow the E/A program to read the memory.  This process has NOT damaged
  20. any of my cartridges.
  21.      Also, CART assumes a TI cartridge is inserted which does not have
  22. any complex (>16K) bank-switching in the CPU ROM portion.  TI Emulator!
  23. only supports bank-switching which uses only two 8k CPU banks and are
  24. toggled by writing to the cartridge address space (as in Extended BASIC
  25. and almost all Atarisoft cartridges).
  26.  
  27.      ■  TRANS, which transfers disk files from the TI to the PC, assumes
  28. a fully-compatible DSR which allows direct-access file input.
  29. Basically, TI's floppy drives and the emulated DSK1 on a Myarc hard
  30. drive should be compatible.  TRANS only supports floppy disks that have
  31. not been copy-protected (like Millers Graphics programs).

  33.      Source code for the transfer programs will be included if you want
  34. to make any changes to support other devices.

  37.      A registration archive will be included on the disk which will
  38. contain:
  39.      ■  The LATEST version of TI Emulator! (if it has been developed       
  40.         enough to be considered an upgrade, otherwise maybe only a         
  41.         TIEMUL.EXE file)
  42.      ■  Programs to process output from CART and TRANS
  43.      ■  Program to convert XMODEM TIFILES files to TI Emulator! files
  44.      ■  Program to convert GRAM Kracker cartridge files to TI Emulator!    
  45.         modules
  46.      ■  All the TI cartridge transfers I have in my library, along with    
  47.         archives of any files included with those programs.

  64.      Note that Disk Manager II barely functions because it uses low-
  65. level routines I haven't implemented.  But hell, you'll get it anyway.
