  2.        A FEW NOTES ABOUT MYARC'S EXTENDED BASIC AND THE GRAM KRACKER

  4.     Quite a few people have asked us about the Myarc Extended Basic and its
  5. use in the Gram Kracker.
  6.  
  7.     Part of the Myarc XB system is an 8K RAM Module and a new PROM for your
  8. 128K/512K Ram  Disk Cards. The  module only contains  8K of static  RAM, it
  9. does  not contain any programming.  The new PROM that  is installed in your
  10. Ram Disk  has a power up  routine that loads some  information into this 8K
  11. Ram module every time you go back to the title screen.

  13.     If you want to use this XB with the Gram Kracker simply leave the Write
  14. Protect switch in the Bank 1 or Bank 2 position and then press RESET.  This
  15. will allow the  Myarc PROM to down load its  information into that RAM Bank
  16. in the  Gram Kracker,  and appear  on your  menu. You  MUST leave the Write
  17. Protect  switch in  the Bank  1 or  2 position  in order  for Myarc's XB to
  18. execute properly.

  20.     One thing to remember is, whatever was in the selected Ram Bank will be
  21. wiped  out by  the 128K/512K  power up  routine. So  if you had TI Extended
  22. Basic loaded  into the Gram Kracker  and you left the  Write Protect switch
  23. turned off, then  both XBs would appear  on the menu BUT  only the Myarc XB
  24. will work. TI  Extended Basic contains 2 banks of ROM  and one of them will
  25. be wiped out so it will not execute properly.

  27.     There are a number of TI modules that do not contain any ROM  they only
  28. contain GROM. As such these modules can properly reside in the Gram Kracker
  29. along  with Myarc's XB. To find out if a module contains ROM simply plug it
  30. into the  Gram Kracker's Module port  and select 5 EDIT  MEMORY. Next press
  31. FCTN = for  HEX and set the address to C6000.  If the memory window is full
  32. of 00  or FF,  depending on  your console,  then that  module only contains
  33. GROM.  A few  of the  popular GROM  only modules are, Editor/Assembler, TI-
  34. Writer, Disk  Manager I & II,  Multiplan and PRK. A  few of the ROM/GROM or
  35. ROM only modules are TI  Extended Basic, Mini Memor, Atari and  most other
  36. third party modules.
