  22. For about the past 3 weeks I've been working on putting together the source
  23. code for GEOS 2.0. Well today, it appears as if I have completed the
  24. project. The source code assembled correctly without errors. It's current
  25. state is that of an exact duplicate of the GEOS 64 2.0 as we know it today.
  26. This gives me a foundation to work with now. While doing all this work, I
  27. have found quite a number of potential bugs in GEOS that will get fixed.
  28. I've also discovered many areas where the general programming can be
  29. improved either by shortening up the code or just making it more efficient.
  30. Overall, I must say that the original programmers did a pretty good job.
  31. This will develop into GEOS 3.0.
  32. GEOS 3.0 will have many features that are needed by today's standards.
