- Dueling Dragons is distributed as shareware on an "I trust you" basis and is
- not in any form to be considered public domain or free. Considerable effort
- went into creating the program and I am retaining full protection under the
- copyright laws. However, I also want you to be able to share my games with
- your friends. So, please feel free to hand on as many copies as you would
- like, as long as you include all of the original files.
-
- If you are going to use Dragons for your personal enjoyment, whether you got
- it from a distributor or a friend, please mail a check or money order to me at
- the above address. The registration fee for Dragons is $10. I depend on your
- registering to continue devoting full time to making fun to use programs that
- don't require you to adapt to the program. I'd also like your comments and
- suggestions. In exchange, I'll add your name to the list of those eligible for
- updates, contests, and 24-hour technical support. If you wish, you may use
- the registration form by typing PRINT DRAGONS.REG at the DOS prompt.
-
- Like all of my games, Dueling Dragons is designed for full color with high
- resolution EGA graphics and should run on most PC's and work alikes. If you
- have any problems, let me know. If you have a CGA display, you might try
- MaxMan. It will also give you a good chase.
-
- Dueling Dragons is designed for two players. However, the computer creates a
- pretty good opponent if you're playing without a friend. The object is to
- wrap your dragon around the other dragon so it cannot move long enough to be
- declared the winner. When both dragons get pinned, the dragon that can make
- the last move will win. Like most of my games the <TAB> key will speed up the
- action and the <SHIFT><TAB> combination will slow things down.
-
- The cursor keys behave a little differently in Dueling Dragons. Each press of
- the left cursor key will turn the dragon 1/4 turn to the left. Each press of
- the right cursor key turns the dragon to the right. If you keep pressing the
- same key, the dragon will turn in a circle. Be careful to avoid trapping
- yourself with your own turns. The computer's red dragon is not very smart
- yet. Sometimes it still gets confused and traps itself.
-
- The score is based on how fast you can pin your opponent and how many moves
- you can make after tangling up the other dragon. When a dragon can't complete
- a move, you will hear a beeping sound. Sometimes it means the dragon's head
- is turned completely around and is trying to travel into its own body.
-
-
- You may copy the Dragons files into any directory on hard disk or another
- floppy. The only requirement is that all of the files associated with the
- program, except for its BAT file, must be in the same directory. You can
- execute the program directly, with a batch file, or from ActMenu. If you put
- Dragons on your hard disk, the BAT file may need changes for your system.
-
-
- Good luck, and let me know if you enjoy Dragons. Your support for my programs
- is sincerely appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
- Chris

-
- P.S. Please retain the original files if you are
- going to pass Dragons along.
