  7. The Astoria building completed the ensemble of St.IsaacÆs Square. Having six stories and garret 
  8. it is higher than all the other  buildings in the square. The lower stories are faced with granite. The 
  9. buildingÆs modest decoration (oval garlanded medallions cut out in granite, masks over the windows, 
  10. embossed vases) is in harmony with the simple architecture of the facade. The interiors (vestibule, 
  11. main staircase, big banquet hall, etc.) were decorated in the Art-Nouveau style, in combination with 
  12. some elements of Classicism.
