  6. related to Virtual Reality.

  30. MACINTOSH users:
  31. ----------------
  32. The files and applications on this CDROM are sorted by category.  To access
  33. the files or applications just double-click on the item you are interested
  34. in.  Note: some folders include a readme document.  It is strongly advisable to
  35. read the readme document before opening any files or applications.
  36.

  39. DOS and WINDOWS users:
  40. ----------------------
  41. To make browsing the disc easier, we have included the VIEW program
  42. for DOS and Windows in the root directory of the CDROM.  This program 
  43. allows you to page through the index files, browse through the images
  44. on the CDROM, view the documentations and uncompress the program(s) 
  45. you want onto your hard disk.  
  46.  
  47. In order to start up the VIEW program, do one of the following:
  48.  
  49. For DOS: just type in VIEW to start or type GO to first view this document. 
  50. For Windows: From the Program Manager, choose the RUN option under 
  51. the FILE menu, then enter "D: VIEW" at the run option bar.  
  52. (Substitute your CDROM drive letter for "D" if it is different.)  
  53.

  55. For an amazing "psychedelic" effect when viewing pictures under MSDOS:
  56.  
  57.    1) Be sure the disc is using its default viewer (Powerview).  If it
  58.       isn't, use the INSTALL.EXE program to switch to Powerview.
  59.  
  60.    2) Start up the VIEW program.
  61.  
  62.    3) Choose a directory that contains images.
  63.  
  64.    4) Choose an image.
  65.  
  66.    5) When the image is on your screen, press the "A" key.
  67.  
  68. Try some of the following keys:
  69.  
  70. G ...................... Color-kill on/off (or greyscale)
  71.  
  72. I ...................... Inversion on/off
  73.  
  74. A ...................... Cycle palette on/off (press ESC, a mouse  button,  or
  75.                          "A" to stop cycling)
  76.  
  77. C ...................... Component swap  (cycles  through  all combinations of
  78.                          the RGB components: RGB, RBG, BGR, etc.)

  126. To install a program you uncompressed onto your hard drive from the
  127. CDROM so it displays an icon in your applications group, you can do
  128. one of two things: 
  129.  
  130. 1)  First select Windows Setup in the Main Group. 
  131.     Then select Options in the menu bar.  
  132.     Select Set Up Applications.
  133.     Select Ask You to Specify An Application.
  134.     Type the path and name of the program you'd like to install.
  135.  
  136.     Windows setup will copy the program's icon into the Application
  137.     Group and set up the program to run from the icon.
  138.  
  139.     For example, to make an permanent icon for boxworld after copying
  140.     it with VIEW you would type:
  141.  
  142.         c:\win3\games\boxworld\boxworld.exe
  143.  
  144.     into the "Specify An Application" box.
  145.  
  146. 2)  Start up File Manager, then locate the executable program (which
  147.     usually ends in .EXE or .COM) you wish to install.
  148.  
  149.     Drag that program icon to your Applications program group inside
  150.     your Program Manager window, then release the mouse button.  The icon 
  151.     will now be in your Applications window, and the program can now be
  152.     run from that icon.

  155. Although you may own this disc, you do not own the programs recorded
  156. on it.  Many of the programs on this disc are shareware.  You are
  157. free to try each program for a limited amount of time.  If you are
  158. satisfied, and want to continue to use the program, you are required

  161. you the most up to date version of the program and a printed manual.
