  23. The formats for bitmaps and icons, along with metafiles and a number of 
  24. other windows-oriented files can be found in Volume 4 of the Windows 
  25. software development kit.  You can get the SDK docs at bookstores with 
  26. large computer sections.  (The docs also come with many C++ compilers and 
  27. on the Microsoft Developers Network CD).

  30. Also, I seem to recall seeing a book called "Windows File Formats" which 
  31. may have been written by Tom Swan (if so, your're in luck because he's 
  32. one of the best tech writers around).

  34. There was also a very good series of articles in PC Magazine last year 
  35. regarding bitmap files.  It's probably on their CD.
