  8. This version of listserv is a subset of the original one that runs under VM
  9. on lots of Bitnet nodes.
  10.  
  11. This tool was firstly designed to act as a relay for Bitnet/Internet lists
  12. and as an archive-server (on a monthly basis). It's also possible to create
  13. locally administred lists on node HOST.FOO.BAR, but my package does
  14. not know of "owners" and other administrative functions. So anyone can
  15. subscribe and contribute to any list he wishes.

  17. Commands must be sent to <listserv@host.foo.bar> in a message without
  18. subject.

  20. Available verbs are:

  23.    LISt                            * Relayed conferences
  24.    REView list                     * Subscribers from a list
  25.    SUBscribe list Your name        * Register to a list
  26.    SIGnoff   list                  * End of subscription

  29.    GET   list file                 * Get a file

  31.    ADD list user@host User Name       * Add a User (Owner only)

  43. Requests are automatically treated by software, so if you get any problem with
  44. it don't hesitate to drop me a message. Response time (for local senders) is
  45. generrally under 1mn, except on very high loads. If you don't get the answer
  46. fast, maybe the listserv is down...
