  1. I wrote this program to help me repair /etc/utmp files left for
  2. whatever reason with invalid entries.  It works for the utmp file
  3. formats on System V, BSD, AIX3, and AIX 2 (though recently I haven't
  4. had access to an AIX 2 system to make sure it still works there).  I
  5. designed the code to make it easy to add or remove fields for a new
  6. utmp format.
