- WHAT? No rstatd? No statsrv? Fear not.
- ------------------------------------------
-
- LB is simple enough to modify for use with other servers. This package
- includes client programs to talk to rstatd or statsrv, and these clients
- can be used as templates for others.
-
- statsrv is available from comp.sources.unix archive servers.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
- From the SunOS rstatd manual page:
-
- rstatd is a server which returns performance statistics obtained
- from the kernel. The rstatd daemon is normally invoked by inetd(8C).
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The opening paragraph from Dave Curry's statsrv README file:
-
- This is a remote statistics server as described in RFC996, "Statistics
- Server", D. L. Mills, February 1987. With it, you can collect things
- like load averages, number of users, uptime, and network statistics
- from remote machines easily. (David Curry, davy@riacs.edu)
