  3.    We need an extended ar that can handle file names > then 15
  4. characters.  I've been somewhat following the POSIX effort but haven't
  5. had the time to really track it in detail.  Have any changes been proposed
  6. for ar in POSIX.2 (that sounds like the right place)?  If so I'd like to
  7. stick with them so that we don't have to worry about it later, if not we
  8. roll out own.
