- ken thompson has just finished implementing the posix sort
- for plan 9. he asked me when and why the following had changed
- and I didn't know. does anyone know why
-
- 1) the character offsets in sort keys now have origin 1 counting
- (it used to be +3 == +3.0 but now is +3.1)
-
- 2) the end of the key is now inclusive, not exclusive (it used to be
- you specified the first char NOT in the key)
-
- i would be pleased if someone who knows why this happened
- could email me the answer. thanks,
-
