  3. You may wind up spending a lot more supporting the different floppy
  4. formats.  It's been my experience that the floppy formatting is
  5. different on different systems, and floppies are not suitable for data
  6. interchange.  My experience has been on using SCO UNIX 386, SunOS 4.1.1
  7. and MIPS RISCOS 4.52.
  8.  
  9. Sun and SCO also support commands to format floppies in DOS format,
  10. which is different from their  UNIX formats.
  11.  
  12. The 1/4" 150MB QIC tape format is standardized and works across all
  13. platforms.
