- Winter '91 is correct: "SunOS Multi-thread Architecture" by M. L. Powell et al.
- I think that it is reprinted in "The SPARC Technology Papers".

- The gist of the paper is that Sun have adopted a two-layer model for multi-
- threading. At one level threads are implemented in a user-space library while
- at the other light-weight processes are implemented in the kernel.
