  9. The BOM proposal for application installation was removed from Draft 6,
  10. I think.  In Draft 8 we had an elaborate scheme named "aiu," but this
  11. met with severe resistance from the balloting group and it was omitted
  12. from Draft 9, the current draft.  Part of the reason we were willing to
  13. do this is that POSIX.7 [System Admin] has application installation
  14. as part of their charter, too, so the overlap is now eliminated.
