- Since I used to work at BRL and now work (partly on NQS) at NASA Ames and I
- have talked with several NQS developers, I may be in a position to make
- factual statements!
-
- "Originally developed at NASA Ames" is correct. While the contractors did
- look at Doug Kingston's MDQS, they claim that it was dropped and NQS was
- written from scratch. Sure, there are some similarities but the claim of
- unfair attribution is not valid.
-
- I am also a member of the POSIX group working on making an NQS-like batch
- system a POSIX standard. Unfortunately, the working group is composed
- primarily of vendors. If you are a user or system administrator then you
- should try to convince your management to let you attend the POSIX meetings.
