  8. My memory is fuzzy now, but I recall cpio having been distributed on
  9. the V7 addendum tape, whose other contents were (I think) fsck, the
  10. line printer driver, and a c2 cured of certain overoptimism.  (This is
  11. a nit picked for historical accuracy only:  I believed then, and still
  12. do, that tar is the better format.  I'm not even keen that this should be
  13. posted, especially if you cannot verify the assertion.)
