  8. This is the first article in Volume 9 of the USENET newsgroup mod.std.unix
  9. (also known as the ARPA Internet mailing list std-unix@sally.utexas.edu).
  10. These volumes are strictly for administrative convenience.
  11. Paper copies of them get delivered to the P1003 committee chair
  12. from time to time and several members of the committee follow
  13. the newsgroup on-line.

  19. This newsgroup and mailing list are for discussions of UNIX standards,
  20. particularly the IEEE 1003.1 POSIX Trial Use Standard.  The moderator is
  21. John S. Quarterman, who is also the institutional representative of
  22. the USENIX Association to the IEEE P1003 Portable Operating System for
  23. Computer Environments Committee (commonly known as the UNIX Standards
  24. Committee).
