- At the Denver meeting of the P1003 working group, it was decided to
- publish a summary of the minutes of each meeting shortly afterwards
- in mod.std.unix, in the USENIX newsletter ;login, and in UNIX Review,
- if possible. The USENIX board, at their Napa meeting last week,
- expressed strong interest in having that in ;login (they're also
- looking for technical papers). I haven't approached UNIX Review yet.
-
- The Denver minutes have been delayed due to logistical reasons,
- but I expect to see them some time next week and will then work
- on a summary to post.
-
- The Denver meeting was used to resolve most remaining balloting
- objections to Draft 6. The result of that and of some further changes
- made after communication with balloters will be Draft 7, which has
- taken longer than expected to produce due to the sheer volume of
- balloting comments. Draft 7, with some minor formatting changes,
- should soon be published in paper form by IEEE as the Trial Use
- Standard. An on-line copy which "represents" Draft 7 will likely
- be made available through this newsgroup some time next week.
-
- There are three more meetings of the IEEE P1003 working group this year:
-
- 16-18 April Florence, Italy, the week before EUUG
- 9-11 June Atlanta, Georgia, the week of USENIX
- ? September Palo Alto, California, still tentative
-
- There will presumably also be a meeting just before the winter
- USENIX convference, which will probably be in Washington, D.C.
- in February 1987.
-
- Volume-Number: Volume 6, Number 6
