  1. This is the first article in Volume 6 of mod.std.unix/std-unix.
  2. These volumes are strictly for administrative convenience.
  3. Paper copies of them get delivered to the P1003 committee chair
  4. from time to time and several members of the committee follow
  5. the newsgroup on-line.

  7. Feel free to continue any discussions from the previous volume
  8. or to start new discussions.

  11. The USENET newsgroup mod.std.unix is for discussions of UNIX standards,
  12. particularly the IEEE P1003 draft standard.  It is also distributed
  13. in an ARPA Internet mailing list.  I'm the moderator, which mostly
  14. means I post what you send me.  I'm also the institutional representative
  15. of the USENIX Association to P1003.

  30. as ~ftp/pub/mod.std.unix.v1, ~ftp/pub/mod.std.unix.v2, etc., through 5.
  31. The volume with the AT&T public domain getopt(3) is ~ftp/pub/mod.std.unix.v3.
