  3. Several people have expressed interest in getting mod.std.unix by mail
  4. over the ARPA Internet.  I've set up automatic forwarding of postings
  5. to the newsgroup to a list of Internet addresses from ut-sally.  As long
  6. as the size of the list remains small, I will keep the list on sally.
  7. If it gets large, I will try to find some host better set up for such
  8. forwarding to take it over.

  10. There was a suggestion to funnel mod.std.unix into UNIX-WIZARDS, as
  11. mod.std.c is funnelled into INFO-C.  I think this would be a bad idea,
  12. considering the amount of junk in UNIX-WIZARDS.  Same for INFO-UNIX.

  14. Eventually, I will put a listing in [SRI-NIC]<NETINFO>INTEREST-GROUPS.TXT,
  15. which is the registry for Internet mailing lists.  For the moment, the
  16. appropriate information is as follows:

  18. The moderated newsgroup mod.std.unix is for discussions of UNIX standards,
  19. in particular of the draft standard in progress by the IEEE P1003
  20. "UNIX Standards" Committee.  It is gatewayed to a mailing list on
  21. the ARPA Internet.

  23. Submissions to the newsgroup (permission to post assumed) to:

  25.     ARPA Internet and CSNET:  std-unix@ut-sally.ARPA
  26. Comments about the newsgroup (permission to post not assumed) to:

  30. Mail to my personal addresses about the newsgroup will be treated
  31. like mail to std-unix-request.
