  85. <h1>Set Your RSA SecurID 800 Authenticator as the Default Token

  87. <p class=p>If you use your SecurID 800 hardware authenticator as your only 
  88.  token with the SecurID desktop application, no setup is required in order 
  89.  to use your token. You can plug your SecurID 800 into a USB port and begin 
  90.  using it. The first time that you authenticate, you will need to set a 
  91.  SecurID PIN. See <a href="settingpinautodetect.htm">Complete First-Time 
  92.  Authentication to a VPN Client That Requests a PIN</a>.  </p>
  93. <p class=p>If you have imported software tokens to the SecurID desktop 
  94.  application (for example, from a folder on your desktop), you must set 
  95.  your SecurID 800 as your default token before you can use it. Selecting 
  96.  the SecurID 800 makes it the "active" token (the token that 
  97.  the application will use to generate your one-time password).</p>
  98. <h2>Before You Begin</h2>
  99. <p class=p>To set your SecurID 800 as the default token, you must know 
  100.  the serial number. The serial number is located on the back of the hardware 
  101.  token. Have the serial number information on hand before you plug in the 
  102.  token.</p>
  103. <p class=Note><span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Note:</B></span> Due to an issue 
  104.  with the SecurID 800 hardware, one or two leading digits may be missing 
  105.  from the token serial number displayed in the SecurID desktop application. 
  106.  However, the remaining digits will be identical to the ones on the back 
  107.  of your SecurID 800. This will not affect your ability to use your SecurID 
  108.  800.</p>
  109. <p class=p style="font-weight: bold;">To set your connected SecurID 800 
  110.  as your default token:</p>
