  86. <h1>Protecting Tokens Stored on Your Hard Drive</h1>
  87. <p>If you store tokens on your local hard drive, you can set a device password 
  88.  to protect all of the tokens. For added security, you may want to change 
  89.  the password periodically. You can also remove the password, but keep 
  90.  in mind that this removes the additional protection from the tokens. </p>
  91. <p>The RSA SecurID Software Token application prompts you to enter the 
  92.  device password the first time you perform a protected operation with 
  93.  a token. For example, you must enter the device password the first time 
  94.  you import a token, obtain a tokencode or passcode, or rename a token. 
  95.  You are not prompted for the device password again during your current 
  96.  logon session.</p>
  97. <p>The device password can contain from 1 to 20 characters. </p>
  98. <p class=Note><span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Important:</B></span> Be sure 
  99.  to memorize your device password. If you forget it, you will not be able 
  100.  to use your tokens, and you will have to delete them and request new tokens.
