  11. Any time you install Mac OS versions 7.6, 7.6.1, 8.0, 8.1 or 8.5 on
  12. your computer, you should use Drive Setup 1.6.1 to update the driver
  13. on your hard disk again. Drive Setup installs software (called a disk
  14. driver) that allows your computer to communicate with the hard disk. 
  15. Use Drive Setup 1.6.1 to update your disk driver or to reinitialize a
  16. disk. When you initialize a disk, all of its contents are erased. 
  17. Version 1.6.1 fixes a potential data transfer problem on the PowerBook
  18. 5300 and PowerBook 2300 operating in SCSI Disk Mode. Earlier versions
  19. of Drive Setup can reintroduce issues resolved with Drive Setup 1.6.1

  21. Instructions:
  22. This software consists of a self-mounting Disk Copy compressed image
  23. (.smi) file. Download this software to your hard drive and then
  24. double-click it to use it. You do not need Disk Copy to access .smi
  25. files.
