  13.   PGPShell is not free software.
  14.  
  15.   The commercial, registered version of PGPShell may not be duplicated
  16.   other than for backup purposes. A registered copy of PGPShell must be
  17.   treated like a book, in that the same registered copy of PGPShell may
  18.   not be used in more than one computer at the same time, just as a book 
  19.   may not be read by more than one person at the same time in two
  20.   different locations (unless an illegal copy is made!)

  22.   Users are granted a limited license to use the trial version of PGPShell 
  23.   for a limited evaluation period of up to 30 days, in order to determine 
  24.   if it suits their needs.  Any other use of PGPShell or any use past this 
  25.   period requires registration.

  27.   All users are granted a limited license to copy the trial version of 
  28.   PGPShell only for the purpose of allowing others to try it out, subject 
  29.   to the above restrictions as well as these:

  31.        PGPShell must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form,
  32.        including ALL program, documentation, and other files.
  33.  
  34.        PGPShell may not be included with any other product for any
  35.        reason whatsoever without a license from James Still.
  36.  
  37.        No charge or payment may be levied or accepted for PGPShell
  38.        above a normal disk handling and operating expense not to 
  39.        exceed $10 per copy, per disk.

  41.   Bulletin Board system operators may post the unregistered, trial
  42.   version of PGPShell on their BBS for downloading by their users
  43.   without written permission only if the above conditions are met,
  44.   and only if no special fee is necessary to access the PGPShell 
  45.   files (a general fee to access the BBS is acceptable but placement 
  46.   of PGPShell in the "free files" section of your BBS is preferred).

  48.   Distributors of User Supported and Public Domain software MUST send
  49.   company literature with camera-ready copy, a written letter of 
  50.   notification stating your intent to distribute and your terms, or some 
  51.   other reasonable method of informing me (in writing) that you plan on 
  52.   distributing PGPShell and under what terms.  I'm not worried about pre-
  53.   authorization concerning your choice to distribute, on the contrary I'm 
  54.   flattered, but I must know of your intent to do so ahead of time.

  57.   licensing.

  63.                  PGPShell Ordering/Registration Information
  64.  
  65.   Registering (purchasing) PGPShell allows you to use the product after 
  66.   the trial period.  Registered PGPShell users get the current version of 
  67.   PGPShell on disk along with their own serial number, and priority when
  68.   electronically mailing me for User Support (still@rintintin.colorado.edu)
  69.   or on my BBS at +1 303 443 2457 (V.32bis N81).  I cannot guarantee
  70.   User Support to unregistered users, but I will do my best.  To register
  71.   PGPShell with your VISA or MasterCard, call 1-800-333-HEAR (4327).
  72.   Please remember that this is an orders-only line and the person
  73.   that takes your order will not be able to answer questions directly 
  74.   related to PGPShell User Support.

  76.   Ten-percent of all revenues from PGPShell will be donated to the
  77.   Philip Zimmermann Legal Defense Fund in Boulder, Colorado, to assist
  78.   the author of PGP in his long, expensive criminal investigation by
  79.   the U.S. Customs Bureau.  I will personally send a letter to the
  80.   defense fund's attorney, Phil Dubois (and forward a carbon copy 
  81.   directly to Philip Zimmermann) and sign the names of all registered 
  82.   users to the letter indicating the amount of the collective donation, 
  83.   and include the donation in the form of a bank-certified check. 
  84.   Notice of the donation will be posted prominently on at least the
  85.   Hieroglyphic Voodoo Machine BBS and the Cypherpunks Mailing List 
  86.   when it is made.

  88.   PGPShell registration costs $20 in U.S. funds, (includes shipping) and 
  89.   a 'registered' copy of PGPShell on disk.  A commercial site license is
  90.   available to government or company entities for a one-time fee of
  91.   $199 in U.S. funds, which has no workstation restrictions.  A bound, 
  92.   printed manual is available at an additional cost of $5 per copy, 
  93.   including shipping charges.  An evaluation disk with the current trial 
  94.   version of PGPShell on it is also available for a $5 fee (again in U.S. 
  95.   funds). This is to be used to try out PGPShell, and does not include 
  96.   registration (the right to use PGPShell after the 30-day evaluation 
  97.   period). The fee covers the cost of the diskette and shipping and 
  98.   handling charges.

  100.   Payment may be in the form of check or money order that I can deposit
  101.   in a U.S. bank.  I will also accept corporate or academic purchase orders 
  102.   for the site license fee only and not the single-user license cost. 
  103.   I must be able to deposit the check into my bank account or I cannot
  104.   process your registration.  Alternatively, you may register PGPShell 
  105.   with your VISA or Mastercard by calling 1-800-333-HEAR (4327).

  111.                      Quantity and Corporate Purchases

  114.   A commercial site license is available to government or company
  115.   organizations for a one-time site license fee of $199.  There are
  116.   no restrictions as to the number of workstations your organization
  117.   may use PGPShell on, but the distribution requirements of this
  118.   license agreement still apply.

  120.   Organizations which purchase a commercial site license, will be
  121.   registered with a single serial numbered version of PGPShell.
  122.   Additional bound, printed manuals are available under the same terms
  123.   as the single-user license agreement above ($5 per copy, bulk orders
  124.   of manuals are:
