  5.     Orpheus is an advanced, writer-friendly authoring system for makers of
  6.     online manuals and tutorials, electronic books, and all other kinds of
  7.     hypertext writing.  Whether you are a veteran of hypertext or a first-
  8.     time author, Orpheus can help you get those great ideas out of the air
  9.     and into silicon.

  11.     The system consists of two programs:  Orpheus Author, an Integrated
  12.     Development Environment for hypertext writers; and the Orpheus Reader,
  13.     a program for you to distribute with your finished books in compiled
  14.     form.  Orpheus Author requires a hard disk; the Reader does not.

  43.     The sample electronic book "Introducing Orpheus" demonstrates some of
  44.     the principle features of Orpheus.  To read it, give the following
  45.     command at the DOS prompt:

  49.     Orpheus is distributed as shareware and costs $49.  You are welcome to
  50.     evaluate Orpheus for up to 30 days, after which you are expected to
  51.     register the software if you wish to continue using it.  You are also
  52.     welcome to make copies for friends or to upload it to BBS's, provided
  53.     you share only the complete, unaltered system as you received it.

  77.     NOTE: compiled works created with versions of Orpheus prior to 1.30 are
  78.     not compatible with this version of the Orpheus Reader.  If you are
  79.     updating from an earlier version, please read the WHATS.NEW file.

  81.     SUPPORT BBS:
  82.     Yes, Orpheus now has an official support BBS, thanks to Synapse, a 19-line
  83.     BBS located in Gatineau, Quebec (Canada).  To obtain the latest version
  84.     of Orpheus or to leave messages in the Orpheus Support conference (#1022),
  85.     have your computer call one of the numbers below.  When prompted for
  86.     your name, enter "ORPHEUS USER".  When prompted for your password, enter
  87.     "VISITOR".  Synapse will grant you immediate download privileges.  Since
  88.     all Orpheus files will begin with the letters "ORPH", look for the latest
  89.     version by giving the command "L ORPH*.*" (meaning Locate all Orpheus
  90.     files).
