  5. Installation Instructions for WE
  6. ================================

  8. The simplest way to install WE is to place the following files
  9. somewhere in the MS-DOS search path:
  10.  
  11.    WE.EXE - Main executable.
  12.    WE.HLP - Help file.
  13.    WE.KCD - Keystroke command definition file.
  14.  
  15. WE.EXE can actually reside anywhere, but it is most convenient to put
  16. it in the MS-DOS search path.  WE.HLP and WE.KCD must be somewhere
  17. WE.EXE can find them.  WE.EXE looks first in the current directory,
  18. and then the MS-DOS search path.
  19.  
  20. WE requires MS-DOS version 3.1 or later.
  21.  
  22. WE.EXE will execute from a floppy drive if necessary, but it may run
  23. somewhat slower because it uses overlays.  A hard disk is preferable.

  25. To start WE either type "WE" on a line by itself to see a directory
  26. list to pick a file from, or type "WE file file file ..." to start WE
  27. and load one or more files at the same time.  You can also use
  28. wildcards for any "file" on the command line to pick from a directory
  29. list of matching files.

  31. Once WE is executing using F1 to view the online help.  Also look at
  32. WESTART.TXT for some hints on what parts of WE to investigate first.

  39. If you like WE and use it regularly you MUST REGISTER IT!!!!!
