  46.          VALDIATE Version 2.0 BETA is BETA-test level code.  It is not
  47.          intended to be a complete antivirus product and is provided
  48.          only for testing and feedback purposes.

  51.          caused by the use or misuse of this program, including if used
  52.          in accordance with the program documentation.

  60.      VALIDATE is a file-authentication program that may be used to check
  61. other programs for signs of tampering.  VALIDATE uses two discrete methods
  62. to generate Cyclic Redundancy Checks (CRC's), which are then displayed for
  63. the user to compare against the known value for the program(s) validated.
  64. The known validation data can be published by the author of the program or
  65. be obtained from a trusted information database.  The dual CRC checking
  66. provides a high degree of security.
  67.  
  68.      To confirm that a program is in its original, untampered state, run
  69. the VALIDATE program on it, record the validation data produced, and
  70. compare it against the record in the online database. If they match, than
  71. it is highly improbable that the program has been modified.

  73. To run VALIDATE, type:

  75.      VALIDATE d:\path\filename.ext

  77. The VALIDATE program will then display the following information:

  79.                    Size:  (#/bytes)
  80.                    Date:  (file creation date)
  81.     File Authentication
  82.          Check Method 1:  (a four digit CRC)
  83.          Check Method 2:  (a four digit CRC)
