  5. For a general description of TheLister refer to the User's Manual
  6. (LISTMAN.WRI) in this distribution set. The manual has been
  7. written with Windows Write.

  9. The contents of this release are listed in the section entitled
  10. "Contents of Distribution Set" below.

  13. WHAT'S SHAREWARE?

  16. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  17. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  18. using it beyond the trial period, you are expected to register.
  19.  
  20. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  21. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  22. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  23. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
  24. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
  25. has the ultimate money-back guarantee: if you do not use the
  26. product, you do not pay for it.

  32. TheLister is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  33. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  34. friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  35. another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  36. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  37. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  38. continue to develop new products.

  40. If you continue to use TheLister after 30 days, you must make a
  41. registration payment of $20.00. Payment of the registration fee
  42. will license one copy for use on any one computer at any one time.

  44. You must treat this software just like a book. An example is
  45. that this software may be used by any number of people
  46. and may be freely moved from one computer location to another,
  47. so long as there is no possibility of it being used at one location
  48. while it is being used at another.

  50. You are encouraged to pass a copy of TheLister along to your
  51. friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  52. copy if they find that they can use it.

  119. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  122. To install the software, copy all files from the distribution set
  123. into a directory on your hard drive.
  124.  
  125. Delete BWCC.DLL if you already have a copy of it in WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  126. directory.

  128. To set up the TheLister icon in the Program Manager, refer to
  129. "Adding Program Items and Documents to a Group" in Microsoft Windows
  130. User's Guide.
