  11. Materials: A resistor(300 ohms should be fine)
  12. 2 alligator clips
  13. *66 service
  14. an ANI number
  15. 2 subscriber lines to use it on
  16. maybe an SPST switch if you don't want to have to unclip it

  20. crimp/solder an alligator clip onto each lead of the resistor.

  22. put the SPST switch in series if you want to make the thing switchable.

  24. That's all there is to the construction

  26. The usage of the this handy little gadget is as follows:

  28. 1. ANI a pair.
  29. 2. clip the sucker between tip and ring
  30. 3. hook up your buttset to the pair you want to ring back, and dial the number
  31. of the pair you stuck it on.

  33. It's busy....

  35. 4. Hang up, hit *66, wait a sec, then hang up again
  36. 5. unclip/switch off the gadget

  38. Voila..Ringback!

  40. the drawback is that *66 does cost a small fee for actuation (53 cents where I
  41. live), but where I live in bell atlantic country there is a maximum charge of
  42. $4.77 per month for the *66 repeat dialing service.

  45. note: If you have a phone hooked up each of the lines, you should just use one
  46. to call the other, and not bother with this..this was written assuming one
  47. doesn't have access to 2 phones, or doesn't want to lug them around with them
