  14.            (ge-2 or equivalent)
  15.    [3] (1) 3k ohm variable resistor
  16.    [4] (2) 560 ohm 1/2 watt resistor

  18.    [6] (1) 500 ohm variable resistor
  19.    [7] (1) .002 Uf capacitor

  30.   [14] (1) antenna (either from an old
  31.            transistor radio or a stiff
  32.            piece of wire will also work)
  33.   [15] (1) 2000 ohm headset (or a mini-
  34.            ature earphone like most tv
  35.            and radios use)

  37.    the parts can be purchased from radio
  38.  shack for less than $20.  This is a
  39.  very good high-gain meter-type bug
  40.  detector.  It has a crystal diode with
  41.  2 amplification stages to boost the
  42.  power of the meter.  This produces a
  43.  broad-band, battery-powered, receiver
  44.  that can sense radio-frequency transm-
  45.  itters up to a mile away.  Unfortun-
  46.  ately, it will also pick up a commerc-
  47.  ial am or fm station up to 3 miles
  48.  away....

  156. My next gadget is what is called a
  157. bumpbeeper.  It attaches to the under
  158. side of a car with magnets and then
  159. sends out a signal that can be heard on
  160. a radio.

  179.  this device is a constant tone signal-
  180. ling source that can be tuned to any
  181. clear spot below 1000 khz.  If magnets
  182. are attached to the case, it can quick-
  183. ly be installed under the persons car.

  185. t can be purchased at radio shack.
  186. (10) Is simply 12 turns of plastic cov-
  187. ered hookup wire wound over (9).
