  1.                         How to make margin note cross-references
  2.                         ========================================

  4. Margin notes are just that -- notes in the margins of text.
  5.  
  6. The most familiar texts for margin notes are either the Bible or Talmud.
  7. Consider these margin note cross-references to the Glossary file:
  8.  
  9. Biblical notes <file14> Biblical margin notes tend toward references by chapter
  10.                         and verse to other text within the Bible.  The
  11.                         exception to this is found in translator bibles, which
  12.                         often contain Hebrew, Greek, and English text,
  13.                         complete with the translator's commentary.
  14.  
  15. Talmudic notes <file14> The margin notes in the Talmud often contain commentary
  16.                         on the text as well as comments on commentary already
  17.                         contained in the margin notes.
  18.  
  19. Postil notes <file14>   While I refer to both of these styles of writing as
  20.                         "talmudic," the technical name for this is postil,
  21.                         which is a Latin abbreviation for the margin note.
