  4. FOR THOSE WHO NEVER READ DOCUMENTATION:

  6. Code.Print won't print anything unless you create some TXT files from your
  7. FRM (forms) and BAS (module) files.  Code.Print processes these TXT files and
  8. uses the MAK file to figure out what TXT files to look for.  To make TXT files
  9. from your application, use the CODE SAVE TEXT command in the Visual Basic
  10. designer menu.

  27. You asked for it!  You got it!  Code.Print now supports left, right, top,
  28. and bottom margin control.  Units can be either inches or centimeters.

  30. Font Installer:

  32. There are many users who have font managers with several hundred fonts.
  33. Since Code.Print accesses this potentially large list numerous times during
  34. program execution, performance on those systems has suffered.  To improve
  35. this situation, an internal font installer has been added to Code.Print.
  36. Since you are not likely to require all of your fonts to be available for
  37. selection, the font installer lets you choose only those fonts you think
  38. you will really want to use with Code.Print.  This makes for a much more
  39. manageable font list. A vast improvement in execution speed can be expected
  40. for those who have a lot of fonts.

  45. If you try to set your options without assigned fonts or try to print from
  46. a MAK file without creating Code Save Text files, you will get a message box
  47. telling you so.

  49. Continuous Page Numbering:

  51. When you print an application from a MAK file Code.Print now sequences the
  52. page numbers continuously from the starting page number to the end of the
  53. print job.  These page numbers are reflected in the index.  To print a file
  54. with page numbers starting at the starting page number select and print them
  55. individually.

  63. You can copy Code.Print to any subdirectory.  If you don't
  64. reference the subdirectory in the File Preferences dialog box
  65. directly, have a path to it.

  67. You will have to create your own program item (and group if you
  68. wish).  The executable file is CPVB.EXE.

  70. Code.Print for Visual Basic requires the Visual Basic runtime DLL,
  71. VBRUN100.DLL or later version.  Be sure it is in a subdirectory
  72. that is in the system path.

  75. RUNNING Code.Print for Visual Basic

  77. Code.Print for Visual Basic creates a file CPVB.INI to store
  78. configuration information (provided you are a registered user.)
  79. If you are installing Code.Print for Visual Basic onto a network
  80. drive, be sure anyone using Code.Print can write to that directory.

  82. Code.Print for Visual Basic does not have the capability to print
  83. source code directly from .FRM or .BAS files.  To create source
  84. code files that are readable by Code.Print for Visual Basic, use
  85. the CODE SAVE TEXT command in the Visual Basic design menu.

  90. Code.Print for Visual Basic is an easy to use program.  All of the
  91. functions contained in Code.Print for Visual Basic are documented
  92. in the on-line help system.  There is no user manual.

  95. LICENSE AND REGISTRATION

  97. License and registration information are available from the help
  98. menu in the main program window and the Non-registered user window
  99. menu.  You can browse and print license information and an order
  100. form from these menus.

  102. Note About Credit Card Orders:
  103.  
  104. We can't accept mail and phone credit card orders.  It is virtually
  105. impossible to get setup to do them these days.  Banks and other
  106. credit card companies say phone and mail order is too risky -
  107. especially when your company is small.  Until we get this situation
  108. changed, we can only accept checks, money orders, and PO's.  Sorry
  109. about the inconvenience.

  112. PRINTERS, FONTS, DRIVERS, ETC...
  113.  
  114. Code.Print for Visual Basic is designed to use the printer fonts and 
  115. drivers that are available in your current Windows environment.  
  116. Printing speed will depend on what fonts and drivers you are using.  
  117. It is best to experiment.  Some fonts really take a long time.
  118. Code.Print will display a message "Waiting for Printer..." while
  119. the printer driver is processing page and font data.  Since
  120. processing has been passed from the program to your printer driver,
  121. Code.Print will not respond immediately to a cancelation request
  122. while the "Waiting for Printer..." message is displayed.

  124. If you are printing to a network printer, you may need to adjust
  125. the timeout setting on the print server.  The Code.Print output
  126. stream is not continuous and causes some networks to believe the
  127. document is finished prematurely.  If adjusting the timeout has no
  128. effect, redirect the output to a file or use a spooler program like
  129. SuperPrint to collect the output before sending it to the network.
