  5.         The QLB supplied with GLib 1.9 was created for QuickBASIC 4.5.
  6.  
  7.         That is, the file BQLB45.LIB was used to create the QLB for the
  8.         QB 4.5 editor environment.  Using this QLB under other QB ver-
  9.         sions (such as QB 4.00(b), the BASCOM version or QBX from BASIC PDS)
  10.         can cause one or more of the following side effects (depending on
  11.         version):
  12.         - Loss of use of the backspace key
  13.         - Loss of use of the 'g' key (particularly Shift 'G')
  14.         - Odd video effects
  15.         - Unexplained lock ups
  16.         - Unexplained string space corrupt errors
  17.         - Loss of other keys

  19.         For the most part these are spurious, and do not mean there is
  20.         anything wrong with your hardware or the QLB/library.  It does
  21.         not necessarily mean that your program is in error (it doesn't
  22.         rule it out either), but is typically the result of mixing one
  23.         QB component from one version with other components from
  24.         another.  We have chosen to release this QLB supporting this
  25.         QB version based on the current popularity for QB 4.5 support
  26.         products over other QB versions.

  29.         Microsoft has been apprised of the explanation for this common
  30.         error, but I have yet to see this information pop up in the
  31.         tech-support database.
