  12.        This source  and object code license agreement is being provided to you
  13.        before you open  this  sealed  diskette  package.  Once  you  open this
  14.        diskette package, you have agreed to all of the terms and conditions of
  15.        this agreement. Therefore, if you do not wish to agree to all the terms
  16.        and conditions of this agreement, you must return the UNOPENED diskette
  17.        package within thirty(30) days  of  your  purchase  thereof,  with your
  18.        sales slip, whereupon your money will be refunded.

  20.        Gustavo Horacio Verdun ("GHV") hereby grants to the person ("Customer")
  21.        who is purchasing the  enclosed diskette  a license  to the  source and
  22.        object  codes  ("Source  and  Object  Programs")  of  the  BASIC Deluxe
  23.        ("BASDLX") library of routines.
  24.  
  25.        The Source and Object  Programs  are  protected  by  the  United States
  26.        copyright law.  Therefore the Customer must treat the Source and Object
  27.        programs just like a book, with the following exception: GHV authorizes
  28.        the  Customer  to  copy  the  Source  and  Object Programs for the soul
  29.        purpose  of  backing-up  the  programs  and  protecting  the Customer's
  30.        investment from loss.

  32.        By saying  "just like  a book"  GHV means, for example, that the Source
  33.        and Object Programs may  be used  by any  number of  people and  may be
  34.        freely MOVED from one computer workstation to another, so long as there

  37.        is no possibility of them being used at one computer  workstation while
  38.           no possibility
  39.        they are  being used  at another.  Just as  a book can't be read by two
  40.        different people in two different places at the same time,  neither can
  41.        the Source  and Object  Programs be used by two different people in two
  42.        different places at the  same  time.  (Unless  the  copyright  has been
  43.        violated.) The following exception applies only to the Object Programs:
  44.        The Customer may keep as many  copies of  Object Programs  and use them
  45.        concurrently on  as many  computer workstations  as long  as the Object
  46.        Programs are placed in a link or run time library and the actual Object
  47.        Programs may  not be  available on  more than  one machine. (This would
  48.        have the respective example of: photo copying a book for personal, non-
  49.        profit use.)

  51.        The  Customer  may  use  the  Source and Object Programs to support the
  52.        BASDLX library. This means that the Customer may include the Source and
  53.        Object Programs in the Customer's own development copies of BASIC-based
  54.        programs but, the  Customer  may  ONLY  distribute  copies  of  them in
  55.        executable form. The Customer may not distribute any part of the Source
  56.        Programs. The Object Programs may only be distributed when, linked with
  57.        the  Customer's  BASIC  program  or,  placed  inside a link or run time
  58.        library. This does not  restrict  the  Customer  from  distributing the
  59.        Customer's own BASIC source code. The Customer may distribute the above
  60.        mentioned  Object  Programs  in  the  above  mentioned  form  only when
  61.        together  with  the  Customer's  program(s). Also, The Customer may not
  62.        include, nor make available, any documentation  describing the  use and
  63.        applications of  the distributed  routines created  from the Source and
  64.        Object Programs.

  81.        The Customer may modify  the BASDLX  Source Programs,  but the modified
  82.        Source  and   Object  Programs,   regardless  of   the  extent  of  the
  83.        modifications, shall  always remain  GHV's Source  and Object Programs.
  84.        The  Customer  may  not  remove  or modify GHV's copyright notices. The
  85.        Customer may not distribute any part  of  the  Source  Programs  or its
  86.        Object Programs  (unless as  specified above), regardless of the extent
  87.        of the modifications, and  the Customer  may not  transport any  of the
  88.        Source  and  Object  Programs  (unless  as  specified above) to another
  89.        computer system or environment. The Customer  shall be  responsible for

  102.        GHV warrants the diskette  to  be  free  of  defects  in  materials and
  103.        workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of purchase.
  104.        In the event GHV receives written notice from  the Customer  of defects
  105.        in  materials  and  workmanship  within  such  30-day  period, GHV will
  106.        replace the defective diskette.

  108.        The remedy for breach of this limited warranty shall be  limited solely
  109.        to  replacement  of  the  diskettes  and  shall  not  include any other
  110.        damages. GHV will not  be held  liable for  the consequential, special,

  112.        indirect, or other similar damages or claims, including loss of profits
  113.        indirect, or other similar damages or claims, 
  114.        or any other commercial  damage, even  if GHV  has been  advised of the

  117.        for  the  Source  and  Object  Programs,  regardless of any form of the

  120.        GHV specifically disclaims all other warranties,  expressed or implied,

  165.        This license  agreement shall be construed, interpreted and governed by
  166.        the laws of the state of Maryland. If  any provision  of this Agreement
  167.        is  found  void,  invalid  or  unenforceable,  it  will  not affect the
  168.        validity of the balance of this Agreement, which shall remain valid and
  169.        enforceable according  to its  terms. In the event any remedy hereunder
