- I have been looking around for a prog that would allow me to pick the
- target LPT port I wanted to use. While I found numerous things that
- would swap the ports there was the not so small problem of "knowing"
- what port had been selected so a decision about the swap could be made.
-
- I found several that came maddeningly close but werent exactly what I
- wanted.....
- 1. small
- 2. let ME absolutely pick the port I want active
-
- NOTE: I DIDN'T have the need to have access to both ports, I have two
- ports, 2 printers and I simply wanted to choose between them when I
- wanted to use them.
-
- I made several attempts to modify existing progs I found and none of
- that was successful.
-
- I have this friend that is an assembler guru (which I AM NOT). I
- "mentioned" my interest and my failed attempts and the next day the
- other 2 items enclosed in this zip were on my desk - and - it works
- MY way.
-
- I mention all of this because my friend is a VERY accomplished
- programmer in Assembler, Pascal, and FOX* and is really interested
- in using his skills to earn a living as an independent programmer.
- If you have a need for the services of a very skilled individual,
- and are willing to pay him for his services, I would be happy to
- put you directly in touch with him.

- Oh yes -- the syntax of LPT
-
- LPT 1 selects LPT1 as the target port
- LPT 2 selects LPT2 as the target port
- and - just in case it needs to be said - you DO need two LPT ports
- to make use of this little gem.
