  3. This is the README.TXT file for Microangelo, a product
  4. designed specifically for working with miniature graphics
  5. and Windows 95.
  6.  
  7. INSTALLING MICROANGELO
  8. -----------------------
  9. The Microangelo package includes a graphical Windows
  10. installation program.  Copy or unzip the set of files
  11. that accompany this README.TXT file to a floppy diskette
  12. or into a temporary folder.  Then run the SETUP program
  13. from the diskette or temporary folder.
  14.  
  15. UNINSTALLING MICROANGELO
  16. ------------------------
  17. Microangelo Setup also installs an "uninstall" utility
  18. to allow easy removal of Microangelo from your system.
  19. Select "Add/Remove Programs" from your Settings (Control
  20. Panel) folder and select "Microangelo 2.0" to uninstall
  21. the software.

  24. DISPLAYING HIGH-COLOR ICONS
  25. ---------------------------
  26. The Microangelo Engineer component contains an option on
  27. the System tab that is used to configure Windows 95 to
  28. display icons using all possible colors.  Displaying icons
  29. in more than 16 colors requires the system's video mode to
  30. be set to GREATER than 256 colors.  Appropriate modes are
  31. commonly referred to as High-Color (16 bit) or True Color
  32. (24 bit).  Your system's video mode can be accessed from
  33. the Settings tab of your Display's Property sheet.  Right
  34. click anywhere on the desktop background and select
  35. Properties.

  37. DOCUMENTATION
  38. -------------
  39. Setup installs a Quickstart User Manual and displays this
  40. manual at the conclusion of Setup.  The Quickstart guide
  41. contains important information and tips to help get the
  42. most out of Microangelo.
  43.  
  44. We recommend printing out the Quickstart guide and reviewing
  45. before you use Microangelo or very soon.  It really does
  46. contain some useful information that might be otherwise
  47. overlooked.
  48.  
  49. Also, a thorough and concise set of online Help files
  50. provide excellent information on program specifics and step-
  51. by-step instructions to help you when you need it most -
  52. while you work.  You can access online help through the
  53. Contents window where the information is organized into
  54. books and chapters, or go directly to the Index window to
  55. look for specific references and keywords to help you locate
  56. the information that you are looking for.

  58. REGISTRATION
  59. ------------
  60. Microangelo is not free software.  It is released as
  61. shareware, which provides the opportunity for the program
  62. to be evaluated before it is purchased.
  63.  
  64. We hope that when you try Microangelo you will like it so
  65. much that you will want to register.  By doing so you are
  66. voting with your pocketbook for us to continue developing
  67. high-quality, Windows shareware.
  68.  
  69. Complete information on how to register Microangelo is
  70. included in the REGISTER.DOC file.  Microangelo Setup
  71. installs a start menu entry titled Microangelo Print
  72. Registration Form that allows you to print the form from
  73. your Start menu.  If you wish to remove the entry and are
  74. not familiar with how to do so, instructions are provided
  75. to remove the entry in the form itself.

  120.  SOFTWARE LICENSE
  121.  
  122.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
  123.  Microangelo on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of
  124.  determining whether Microangelo is suitable for their
  125.  needs.  The use of Microangelo, except for the initial
  126.  30-day trial, requires registration.  The use of
  127.  unlicensed copies of Microangelo, outside of the initial
  128.  30-day trial, by any person, business, corporation,
  129.  government agency or any other entity is strictly
  130.  prohibited.
  131.  
  132.  A license for personal use may be purchased that grants
  133.  the user the right to use Microangelo on one or more
  134.  computers.  A commercial license requires sufficient
  135.  licensing equal to the number of users, or the quantity
  136.  of workstations that access the software, whichever is
  137.  smaller.
  138.  
  139.  No one may modify or patch the Microangelo executable files
  140.  in any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
  141.  disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
  142.  programs.
  143.  
  144.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
  145.  Microangelo only for the trial use of others, subject
  146.  to the above limitations, and also the following:
  147.  
  148.   1)    Microangelo and all of its release files must be
  149.         copied in unmodified form, complete with the file
  150.         containing this license information.
  151.  
  152.   2)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
  153.         or accepted, except as authorized below:
  154.  
  155.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
  156.            (sysops) may make Microangelo available for down-
  157.            loading only as long as the above conditions are
  158.            met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  159.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
  160.            long as there is not a specific charge for the
  161.            download of Microangelo.

  163.         B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
  164.            approved by the ASP may distribute Microangelo,
  165.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  166.            permission.  Non-approved vendors may distribute
  167.            Microangelo only after obtaining written
  168.            permission from Impact Software.  Such permission
  169.            is usually granted.  Please write for details
  170.            (enclose your catalog).

  172.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
  173.            the Microangelo diskette to their members,
  174.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  175.            permission.  Non-profit groups may collect a disk
  176.            duplication fee not to exceed five dollars.

  178.   LIMITED WARRANTY
  179.  
  180.   Impact Software warrants that all disks provided are
  181.   free from defects in material and workmanship, assuming
  182.   normal use, for a period of 90 days from the date of
  183.   purchase.

  185.   Impact Software warrants that the program will perform
  186.   in substantial compliance with the documentation supplied
  187.   with the software product.  If a significant defect in
  188.   the product is found, the Purchaser may return the
  189.   product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund
  190.   exceed the purchase price of the product.

  192.   EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IMPACT SOFTWARE DISCLAIMS ALL
  193.   WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
  194.   LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
  195.   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE
  196.   PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE
  197.   PURCHASER ASSUMES THE RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF
  198.   ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION AND ANY
  199.   INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL
  200.   IMPACT SOFTWARE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER
  201.   (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
  202.   BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS
  203.   INFORMATION AND THE LIKE) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR THE
  204.   INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT EVEN IF IMPACT SOFTWARE
  205.   HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  207.   Use of this product for any period of time constitutes
  208.   your acceptance of this agreement and subjects you to its
  209.   contents.
