  41. I. Purchasing a User License and a Registration Code

  43. The software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95 is shareware. That
  44. means you can try out the software for 45 days free of charge. You
  45. have to purchase a user license only if you want to use the software
  46. permanently. If you purchase the license, you will get your personal
  47. registration code to register the software and the right to use the
  48. software permanently.

  50. Distributing the unregistered version of the software is allowed,
  51. as far as none of the guidelines that are named in the file
  52. 'LICENSE.TXT' are violated.

  54. If you use a version of the software that is not registered, a
  55. shareware notification will appear about 10 days after the software
  56. was installed. After 45 days the notification will block the use of
  57. the program and you can remove the notification without quitting
  58. the program only after an increasing period of time.

  61. basis for the use of the software, refer to the file 'LICENSE.TXT'.

  111. II. Installing the Software
  112.  
  113. To install the software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95, open the
  114. file 'SETUP.EXE' in the directory in which the various files of the
  115. program are located. SETUP will guide you through the install process
  116. by means of a wizard. Depending on the way in which you received the
  117. software (on a floppy disk, in a directory on a CD-ROM or in a self-
  118. extracting archive) there are the following possibilities to execute
  119. 'SETUP.EXE':
  120.  
  121. - Installing by using the start menu...
  122.  
  123. Insert the floppy disk or the CD-ROM on which the T.N.T. files are
  124. located in the corresponding drive and choose 'Run' from the Windows(R)
  125. start menu. Afterwards you can enter the path of the file 'SETUP.EXE'
  126. in the 'Open' edit control of the 'Run' dialog box. For instance, if
  127. the file is on a floppy disk in drive 'A:', you would enter:

  129. A:\SETUP.EXE
  130.  
  131. Then press the 'OK' button in the 'Run' dialog box. (Note: If the file
  132. is in a directory on a CD-ROM, enter the corresponding path.)

  134. - Installing out of a self-extracting archive...
  135.  
  136. If you received T.N.T. in the form of the self-extracting archive
  137. 'TNTWIN95.EXE' (for instance, by downloading the file with your modem),
  138. proceed as described above to open the self-extracting archive by means
  139. of the 'Run' option of the Windows(R) start menu. For instance, if the
  140. archive is in the 'DOWNLOAD' directory on drive 'C:' is, enter
  141.  
  142. C:\DOWNLOAD\TNTWIN95.EXE
  143.  
  144. and press the 'OK' button in the 'Run' dialog box. Then a dialog named
  145. 'The Next Tool - Self-Extracting Archive' appears in which you can enter
  146. the target directory for the extraction of the files. As soon as all
  147. files are extracted you can run 'SETUP.EXE' directly.

  151. III. Updating a Version that was Previously Installed
  152.  
  153. To update a version of the software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95
  154. that was previously installed, run the install wizard 'SETUP.EXE' of
  155. the new version as described above.
  156. When overwriting an old version, you have the chance to keep your old
  157. configuration files 'TNTWIN.INI' and 'TNTWIN.ICS', so your personal
  158. settings will not be lost.
  159. Anyway, please use 'SETUP.EXE' to update the software, so that
  160. entries in the registry and other system parameters can be updated
  161. and all improvements and extensions of the new versions become
  162. effective.
