This is a beta version! You should avoid using it if you are not an experienced software user. Also make sure you have backup copies before testing the beta on important files. The help file still needs updating but you will find information in the Readme.OTL and WhatsNew.TXT files.
Like many beta programs, this one will stop working after about one month (about end of February 1998). This is done to avoid having old beta versions circulating long after the final version is released.
Most of the NoteTab program has been rewritten from scratch (that's more than 21'000 lines of code!). This was done to optimize the code, to improve the integration of all the latest features, and to merge Super NoteTab and NoteTab Pro into a single project to ease maintenance. As a result of all this work, Super NoteTab's input control has benefited from many improvements. It is now much faster at completing certain tasks and has gained some of the features that were only available in the NoteTab Pro version (e.g. automatic indentation).
NoteTab Pro 4.0 beta marks the first time it becomes available as a public beta! Once beta testing is over, NoteTab Pro will be available from ideaMarket for USD $9.95 as well as a time-limited demo. NoteTab Pro has the same interface as Super NoteTab but adds URL and HTML-tag highlighting, multiple-level undo/redo, bookmarks, and real wrap-to-column. NoteTab Pro is also faster than Super NoteTab but it can only display fixed-width fonts. Super NoteTab, on the other hand, can also display variable-width fonts.

If you think you have found a bug, please take a moment to report it to me. It would be most helpful if you can explain it in as much detail as possible. If I am not able to reproduce a bug on my computer, then usually I won't find it. Some known issues are listed at the end of the Readme.Txt file so please check it in case the bug you found is already listed. Clipbook Libraries
------------------
I would like to include some additional Clipbook libraries (formally referred to as templates) in the NoteTab package. If you have, or would like to create, a library that makes good use of the latest Clipbook features, please send me a copy. The best Clipbook libraries will be considered for distribution with the NoteTab software and their authors will receive a registered copy of the program. You may use the new Clipbook information window to advertise your work, web site and E-mail address.
I am especially on the lookout for Clipbook libraries on C/C++, HtmlHelp, Java, JavaScript, Perl, VBScript, VRML, WinHelp, and libraries making use of the mathematical capabilities.
