  130. Before installing NETCOMplete on your computer, check to be sure your 
  131. computer system meets the following specifications.

  133. For Windows, you will need:
  134.  IBM compatible PC with a 486 or higher processor
  135.  VGA graphics card
  136.  Color monitor recommended
  137.  Mouse or other pointing device
  138.  9600 bps modem or faster (14.4 kbps recommended for Web)
  139.  Microsoft Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS 5.0 or higher, or Windows 95
  140.  8 MB random access memory (RAM) memory
  141.  12 MB free hard disk space
  142.  
  143. For Macintosh, you will need:
  144.  System 7.1 or later
  145.  Any Macintosh with a 68030, Power PC processor or higher
  146.  12 MB of free hard disk space

  151. If this is an individual account, you will need a major credit card to complete the

  155. How to Install NETCOMplete    
  156.  
  157. If you received NETCOMplete with your computer or with a CD-ROM product 
  158. from one of our partners, please refer to the documentation materials (provided by 
  159. the computer manufacturer or CD-ROM vendor) for NETCOMplete installation 
  160. instructions.

  162. To install NETCOMplete for Windows:
  163.  
  164. 1 Insert the NETCOMplete CD or Disk 1 into the appropriate disk drive.
  165.  
  166. 2 From the Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.  If you are using 
  167. Windows 95, choose Run from the Start menu on the Task bar. The Run 
  168. dialog box will appear.
  169.  
  170.  To install NETCOMplete for Windows 95, type d:/win95/setup in the Run 
  171. text box. Type the drive letter where the installation disk is located.
  172.  
  173. To install NETCOMplete for Windows 3.1, type d:/win31/setup in the Run 
  174. text box. Type the drive letter where the installation disk is located.
  175.  
  176. 3 Click OK or press Enter. Follow the directions that appear on the screen to 
  177. complete the installation.
  178.  
  179. Note: You may be asked to enter the registration number and serial number 
  180. printed on the back of the packaging. If you are installing from floppies, the 
  181. registration and serial numbers may be on the address label.
  182.  
  183. 4 Once the installation is complete, you will be asked if you would like to 
  184. complete your on-line registration.  If you do not already have a NETCOM 
  185. account, click Yes to launch the registration program. Follow the directions 
  186. that appear on the screen to register with NETCOM.

  188. 5 When you have finished registering, click Login to access the Internet.

  190. To install NETCOMplete for Macintosh:
  191.  
  192. 1 Insert the NETCOMplete CD or Disk 1 into the appropriate disk drive.

  194. 2 Double-click the NETCOMplete Installer application.
  195.  
  196. 3 Follow the instructions on screen to install NETCOMplete. 
  197.  
  198. Note: You may be asked to enter the registration number and serial number 
  199. printed on the back of the packaging. If you are installing from floppies, the 
  200. registration and serial numbers will be on the address label. After the 
  201. installation is complete, the NETCOMplete installer may need to restart your 
  202. computer.

  204. 4 After restarting, double-click the NETCOMplete application in the 
  205. NETCOMplete folder.

  207. 5 Follow the instructions on your screen to log on, register and setup your 
  208. NETCOM account.

  210. 6 When you have finished registering, select Login from the NETCOM menu to 
  211. connect to the Internet .

  213. The Netscape Navigator software will launch so that you can explore the 
  214. Internet.
  215.  
  216. To install other Internet applications:
  217. 1. Start the NETCOMplete software and log into your account.
  218.  
  219. 2. Click the Netscape Navigator icon on the NETCOMplete toolbar.
  220.  
  221. 3. Type http://www.netcom.com/support/swpartners in the location field and 
  222. press Enter.  Information on system requirements, installation and 
  223. configuration will be displayed for the Internet applications that are included 
  224. on the NETCOMplete CD.

  228. You can find user documentation, as well as answers to frequently asked 
  229. questions about NETCOMplete, Netscape Navigator and other Internet software.

  232. 1.    Start the NETCOMplete software and log into your account.
  233. 2.    Click the Netscape Navigator icon on the NETCOMplete toolbar.
