  12.             The Defiant was forced to call
  13.             off its search because of the
  14.             Jem'Hadar.
  15.  
  16.     Ezri examines him with a medical tricorder.
  17.  
  18.                     WORF
  19.             Why would the captain risk
  20.             sending a runabout to look for
  21.             me?
  22.  
  23.                     EZRI
  24.                 (admitting it)
  25.             He didn't. I came without his
  26.             permission.
  27.  
  28.     Worf shifts uncomfortably. Feeling strangely
  29.     exposed at admitting this to him, she finds herself
  30.     making the same excuse Worf used with her in "Field
  31.     of Fire."

  33.                     EZRI
  34.             You're a fellow officer. I
  35.             would've done the same for Kira
  36.             or Julian.
  37.  
  38.     Worf quickly accepts this.
  39.  
  40.                     WORF
  41.             Of course.

  43.     Glad he's not making a big deal out of it, Ezri
  44.     fumbles through the medkit and retrieves a CLOTH.
  45.     As she leans in to wipe the blood from his wound,
  46.     their faces end up very close.
  47.  
  48.     Intent on her work, Ezri doesn't notice the effect
  49.     her proximity is having on Worf. After a moment,
  50.     they catch each other's gaze and --

  52. 34B  THEIR EYES LOCK
  53.  
  54.     A beat, then Worf suddenly reaches up and takes her
  55.     wrist in his hand. For a split-second we wonder if
  56.     he's going to pull her close or push her away, and
  57.     we get the sense that Ezri wouldn't resist the
  58.     latter. Finally --
