  2.        DEEP SPACE N1NE: "A Simple... " - REV. 1/20/97 - ACT TWO      21.

  4. 21   CONTINUED:

  6.     She fishes a small DEVICE from her SHOULDER BAG,
  7.     studies the controls on the wall monitor for a beat. 
  8.     She separates the device into two component pieces, 
  9.     places one on the control panel. She then pulls her 
  10.     hair aside to expose the port in her skull.
  11.  
  12. 22   CLOSE - THE PORT
  13.  
  14.     as she inserts the second piece into the port. A DIODE 
  15.     on the end starts to BLINK.
  16.  
  17. 23   RESUME (OPTICAL)
  18.  
  19.     We see the two BLINKIES on both pieces start to FLASH 
  20.     in unison. A faraway look comes over her eyes, as if 
  21.     she's now sightless.
  22.  
  23.     Though she doesn't use her hands to work the controls, 
  24.     we see the computer activate. A series of SCREENS come 
  25.     up on the monitor as Arissa works her way past a few 
  26.     SECURITY PROTOCOLS and into the station's Assay Office 
  27.     logs. She starts to scroll down the list of TEXT, 
  28.     which flashes past too fast for us to read. Finally it 
  29.     stops, and we see a particular name Highlighted -- 
  30.     Tauvid Rem.
  31.  
  32.     Off the mystery of the moment...
  33.  
  34. 24   INT. PROMENADE - LATE NIGHT
  35.  
  36.     Quark is closing and locking the door to the bar. As 
  37.     he starts to close the shutters, he sees something 
  38.     inside the darkened bar, frowns, and re-opens the door.
  39.  
  40.                     QUARK
  41.             Morn! We're closed.
  42.  
  43.     A beat, then a chastened looking MORN emerges from the 
  44.     bar...
  45.  
  46.                     QUARK
  47.             Go home.
