  10.     Sisko ENTERS to find Jake and Kasidy cooking up a 
  11.     storm. Jake is stirring a skillet full of jambalaya as 
  12.     Kasidy puts the finishing touches on the table.
  13.  
  14.                     JAKE
  15.             You're just in time, Dad.
  16.  
  17.     Truth is that Sisko has a lot to think about and was 
  18.     hoping to be alone for a moment. But he musters up a 
  19.     smile anyway.
  20.  
  21.                     SISKO
  22.             What's this all about?
  23.  
  24.                     KASIDY
  25.             It's about jambalaya.
  26.  
  27.                     JAKE
  28.             We never had that welcome back 
  29.             dinner for Kasidy.
  30.  
  31.  
  32.     Kasidy senses his mood and steps over to him -- kisses 
  33.     him gently.
  34.  
  35.                     KASIDY
  36.             Welcome back. To both of us.
  37.  
  38.     Sisko doesn't know what to feel; the warmth of the 
  39.     moment is undeniable, but so is his loss. Jake sees 
  40.     his father's face and moves to be near him.
  41.  
  42.                     KASIDY
  43.             Ben... I can't say I understand 
  44.             what you've gone through. I know 
  45.             you feel you've lost something 
  46.             important... and maybe you have. 
  47.             But believe me...
  48.  
  49.     Kasidy takes his hand. She then takes Jake's hand and 
  50.     puts it into Sisko's.
  51.  
  52.                     KASIDY
  53.             ... you've held on to something 
  54.             important as well.
  55.  
  56.     Kasidy lets go of their hands, hoping that Jake's touch 
  57.     will drive her point home. Sisko looks at his son... 
  58.     the truth of her words is sinking in.
